Instructional Design

JAAM combines visual and technical knowledge with different learning styles to create engaging and educational content that maximises learning outcomes. Our instructional designers play an important role in this transformation to ensure learning content and materials meet the project objectives and adhere to proven learning styles.

We have a clear project lifecycle based on Agile principles which is fast, flexible and customer centric. Whether creating, converting or enhancing content, we have a variety of content types which can utilised by organisations in many different industries and sectors. We use the industry standard authoring tools for SCORM content and also create platform specific content.

Content Types

One size does not fit all when it comes to learning styles and preferences, we can help choose the most effective content types to match the learner's needs and the content delivery methods of the course.

We can convert existing content from PowerPoint, Word, Flash and paper based documents such as handouts. Our content is HTML5 based and responsive for most display / device types.


Podcasts allow learners to study in locations that suit their lifestyle such as around the house or commuting. Content can be produced from existing course content or produced independently.


The most common type of eLearning content, we can build slideshows from printed content, images, articles and recorded events. Slideshows can be enhanced with interactive elements.

User Guides

We can create written user guides to your specifications or walk a set of users through the steps while they create guides in a train-the-trainer style exercise.

Case Studies

A case study is an effective method of presenting problem solving scenarios using a real-life situation. It can be a team based activity or used as a revision tool.


Some topics are easier explained by doing rather than telling. We create an environment that helps immerse the learner in the topic using animation or video content.


Questions can be built into content in an informal interactive style or as a more formal testing procedure using randomised question banks with recorded results. Can also be used as part of gamification.

Interactive Elements

A collection of techniques used to make content more engaging for the learner. These can be drag and drop type sections through to self paced learning where topics can be revealed in any order and speed.


Q&A session recorded in either video or written article format, interviews are a good method of exploring a topic directing with a professional expert or academic.

Charts / Graphs

Charts and graphs can be interspersed into other types of content such as slideshows or used as additional materials.


An infographic is a popular method for quickly and approachably laying out complex information or ideas using a combination of short text and engaging graphics. We create eye-catching infographics for use in social media, the classroom or within learning content.

A schedule of events will be created based on the outcome of the requirements stage and your project deadlines.
