Content Overview

Instructional Design

JAAM combines visual and technical knowledge with different learning styles to create engaging and educational content that maximises learning outcomes. Our instructional designers play an important role in this transformation to ensure learning content and materials meet the project objectives and adhere to proven learning styles.

We have a clear project lifecycle based on Agile principles which is fast, flexible and customer centric. Whether creating, converting or enhancing content, we have a variety of content types which can utilised by organisations in many different industries and sectors. We use the industry standard authoring tools for SCORM content and also create platform specific content.

Content Types

One size does not fit all when it comes to learning styles and preferences, we can help choose the most effective content types to match the learner's needs and the content delivery methods of the course.

We can convert existing content from PowerPoint, Word, Flash and paper based documents such as handouts. Our content is HTML5 based and responsive for most display / device types.

Podcasts

Podcasts allow learners to study in locations that suit their lifestyle such as around the house or commuting. Content can be produced from existing course content or produced independently.

Slideshows

The most common type of eLearning content, we can build slideshows from printed content, images, articles and recorded events. Slideshows can be enhanced with interactive elements.

User Guides

We can create written user guides to your specifications or walk a set of users through the steps while they create guides in a train-the-trainer style exercise.

Case Studies

A case study is an effective method of presenting problem solving scenarios using a real-life situation. It can be a team based activity or used as a revision tool.

Simulations

Some topics are easier explained by doing rather than telling. We create an environment that helps immerse the learner in the topic using animation or video content.

Assessments

Questions can be built into content in an informal interactive style or as a more formal testing procedure using randomised question banks with recorded results. Can also be used as part of gamification.

Interactive Elements

A collection of techniques used to make content more engaging for the learner. These can be drag and drop type sections through to self paced learning where topics can be revealed in any order and speed.

Interviews

Q&A session recorded in either video or written article format, interviews are a good method of exploring a topic directing with a professional expert or academic.

Charts / Graphs

Charts and graphs can be interspersed into other types of content such as slideshows or used as additional materials.

Infographics

An infographic is a popular method for quickly and approachably laying out complex information or ideas using a combination of short text and engaging graphics. We create eye-catching infographics for use in social media, the classroom or within learning content.

Project Lifecycle

Gather general requirements:
Audience, Learning Style, Budget, Number of users, Course Length and Structure

A schedule of events will be created based on the outcome of the requirements stage and your project deadlines.

Layout: Content, Navigation and Media as well as the direction of learning, learning paths and exam outcomes.

Content and media will be created by our development team.

Quality and assurance testing. Confirm development matches the project plan, storyboard and met your expectations.

Start your learning journey!

Instructional design is not all about presenting the information digitally, online or offline, it is about finding the key points to connect with users and SMEs. At JAAM, instructional designers follow the project lifecycle to make sure your feedback and requirements are met at each stage of the project.

Content Elements

JAAM can create, convert and enhance eLearning content.

We create bespoke content for a wide range of learning styles and delivery methods. If you already have existing content, we can enhance the look and feel to make it more modern and mobile friendly. Content created in Flash, PowerPoint or Word can be converted into a modern HTML5 and SCORM compliant format for your LMS.

  • Enhanced Content

We can refresh your existing content with new graphics, audio or a new course layout.

  • Interactive Learning

Self-paced learning with interactive exercises delivered through your portal. JAAM can create engaging content that learners will enjoy.

  • Assessment Styles

Formative: Learning outcome is not dependent on the learner's score. Summative: Learning outcome is graded for training achievement. JAAM can recommend an approach that fits your learning outcome.

  • Technical Support

We can provide post-live support to work through any issues. For larger organisations we can provide handover documentation and training.

  • Collaborative Learning

Learners have various methods of engaging with content through social media, enhanced tutor contact or teams.

  • Cost Effective Content

Digital content can help increase the ROI of a course by reaching more learners over multiple channels. Delivery doesn't require travel, classrooms or scheduling which reduces costs for the trainer and trainee.

Depiction of content structure and types
  • Bespoke Content

Randomised banks of questions can provide individual assessment outcomes with valuable feedback.

  • Content Support

We can provide on premise or virtual training sessions for your staff to make sure they are confident with the delivery format and methods of the new materials.

  • Independent Learning

Learners can set their own pace and work on topics in an their prefered order. Tutor assistance is still available.

  • Reusable Content

Digital content is flexible and reusable, it can be used over multiple formats and content types. This allows content to be used in a formal classroom setting as well as less formal self-paced learning.
